LXVIII
You may be wondering why I am so focused on sixty-eight this day. In '68 the best song was "Up, Up and Away" by the Fifth Dimension. How could we forget my beautiful, my beautiful balloon? Now the ubiquitous song of Safeways all over the nation. The best country song was "Ode to Billie Joe" while Billie Jean was kicking butt at Wimbledon. In '68 both Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert Kennedy were assassinated. Andy Warhol was shot. Astroworld opened. The Republicans nominated Nixon & Agnew for their ticket. Ari Onaissis and Jackie "not yet O" Kennedy were married and Yale finally became co-ed. Lisa Marie Pressley and Vanilla Ice were born and the Boeing 747 made its maiden flight.
All of these events occured in '68.
Today I found out that my CA 27-29 is down to 68. I had another treatment on Friday that left me with a lot of bone pain but no nausea. Today I am feeling better and ready to go.
Please send your thoughts and prayers to Matt's Grandmother and the girl's great-Grandmother Ruth. She had a heart attack over the weekend and is currently in the CCU.

Michele, I recently had the pleasure of meeting you and was compelled to visit your website and read your blogs. Initially I wanted to read a blog or two, to get a better idea of what type of cancer you were facing. An hour and a half later I have read all of your blogs and am so filled with hope and prayer for you and your family I wanted to share it with you! You are wonderfully optimistic with the misfortune you have been dealt, and I admire that. My mother was the same way. She never let her cancer get her down, and I feel like that attitude significantly improved her quality of life while undergoing treatments, drug side effects, and procedures. A procudure that she especially did not like was her bone marrow biopsies. You mention having biopsies as well, I'm not sure if they are the same kind, but from your description of the pain and the bruising, it sounds like the same thing. I vividly remember her agony over those, and my heart goes out to you for having to endure that level of pain. I know my mother would have something wonderfully inspirational to say to you, as encouragement. But sadly we lost her July 9th, 2006 during an autologous stem cell transplant. Unfortunately I cannot do her memory justice in that aspect. Although, I can remind you of Philippians 4:13
I will continue to pray for you.
